Stairway
This long, steep stairway had only one handrail. We added a second handrail, and replaced the existing railing so that both sides would have round railings. This can make a huge difference in safety and grip.
Exterior Entrance
The entrance to this home was missing a handrail on the first few steps. Remedying that – and adding safety strips on the stair treads – brought peace of mind to the homeowner.
Cabinet Storage
Installing a pull-out shelf organizer in the lower cabinets of this kitchen cabinet provides for access without kneeling.
Shower
We added grab bars, a chair, and a shower wand to this homeowner’s bathtub. You might also notice the raised toilet with safety bars in the “after” picture on the right.
Door Handle
Something as simple as swapping out door knobs for handles can make a huge difference for anyone with grip challenges.
Dryer Vent
Dryer vents are one of the leading causes of house fires. In addition to cleaning the trap – which is usually easily accessible on the top or front of the machine – the vent that leads outdoors also requires maintenance and cleaning.
Toilet
There are many options for toilet modifications. Different people have different needs, and we consider factors such as stability, toilet profile, ease of cleaning and handrail options in collaborating with homeowners about what works best for them.
